Good morning! I have two time-sensitive updates for you that could not wait until Friday.
First, I’m having a bake sale this Saturday 7/8! Chaz’s surgery and vet visits have been…very expensive. For the next few months, I’m going to drop some pastry boxes for sale via my website to help us pay off all of the expenses and future care he needs while he is still with us.
Each box of goods will have four different items – a variety of cookies, cakes, and pies. I’m a one-woman show and I can only sell a few at a time, first come first serve. For now, they are only available for pickup in northeast LA (Glassell Park 90065) but I’m working on a westside pickup for future drops.
A few extremely generous people reach out about helping us and participating in the bake sale from afar. I have added a “Pay It Forward Donation” item to purchase. For each donation, I’ll pay it forward by donating a box of cookies to my local community pantry (@glassellparkcommunityfridge). Baking has saved my life many times. It’s cathartic, sparks joy, and brings people together. I’m grateful to those who want to help our little family and excited to turn around and pay it forward in my community.

Canceling June was the right thing to do for our family but I am still hosting the other three dinners this summer. August and September are completely sold out, the only available tickets are for July 22nd!

The one benefit to canceling June’s dinner is that we had a few extra weeks to get stuff ready. The outdoor kitchen area is fully finished and getting lots of use. Our garden is thriving with produce available daily (you can pick some while you are here). I can’t wait for July’s dinner and hope to see you there!!
