Hello to my favorite group of people on the internet! Next week is Valentine's day and I have a cute treat for you to make, Strawberry Cream Cookies. This is our first baking recipe of 2022 and it’s damn good.
I’ll shoot it straight with you, this is a basic sugar cookie. Not the sugar cookies you roll, cut, and ice around the holidays. It’s the super soft and chewy type of sugar cookie. When I was in high school they used to sell chewy sugar cookies warm out of the oven from a little cart at lunch. I never bought them but my boyfriend would get two every day. The texture of these transported me back to eating those high school cookies in the quad. I’m sure they will be nostalgic for some of you too.
When I gave a few of these to Marco’s coworkers to try, the first question I received was “what makes them cream cookies?” There isn’t any cream in the traditional sense in this recipe but when you try the cookies you will taste extra milky/creamy notes. That comes from the addition of non-fat milk powder.
