Easter Eggs + Chocolate Nests
What do you eat on Easter? Growing up my grandmother would host a casual Easter brunch. Since my grandpa, his kids, and their kids are Jewish we never celebrated Easter as a religious holiday but more of a way to get the whole family together. She would have a spread of food but I only remember two things: Honey Baked ham and corn pudding. My mom and I would stand in the kitchen and pull the sugar off the ham because...that's the best part obviously. Then when it came time to eat I would have two servings of corn pudding, a few bites of salad, and call it a day. The egg hunt (the best part of Easter) would follow brunch and all of the cousins would race to get as many eggs as possible. Until one year a cousin snatched my egg and I punched him in the face to get it back. The details are blurry but it happened. After that my grandmother whipped out her label maker and we were only allowed to collect eggs with our names on them. The egg hunts became less exciting that way.
